PDG Joe Beltz Nominated To Serve As District Governor for 2014-2015

I am pleased to announce that Past District Governor Joe Beltz of the Rotary Club of Mountain View, has been nominated and has agreed to serve the remainder of District Governor Mike Beahon’s term through June 30, 2015. The Council of Governors met last week and discussed the qualifications of a Vice District Governor to carryout the duties of District Governor and the immediate issues that need to be addressed in order to have a successful 2014-’15 year of Rotary in District 6080. All of the Council of Governors had an opportunity to comment on the nomination of PDG Joe Beltz and to make additional nominations if they were so inclined. PDG Joe received unanimous support from all PDGs that chose to respond, in addition to the unanimous support of the nominating committee.

PDG Joe Beltz is very committed to his family and has maintained an active role in Rotary International Zone activities, the Multi-District PETS, and District 6080 activities. Joe has served as treasurer, secretary, vice-president, and chairman of Show Me Rotary Institute. He has been Assistant Regional Rotary Foundation Chairman in Zone 31, active as a facilitator with our District Visioning team, and is strong supporter of The Rotary Foundation (TRF).

PDG Joe will be the official District Governor of our District 6080 for the remainder of the 2014 – 2015 Rotary International year. In addition to PDG Joe, several other PDGs have pledged their support to help Joe carry out his many responsibilities, including club visits, final planning and execution of the District Conference, TRF Million Dollar Dinner, administration of district and global grants, club and officer support, communications, district officer recruitment, Rotary Day at Camp Wonderland, encouraging TRF giving, helping with PETS and SETS, mentoring the DGE – DGN – DGND, and the other multiplicity of duties of the district governor. PDG Joe has pledged to carry out the original planning of DG Mike Beahon as closely as possible.

Rotary International was be notified on 7/23/2014 of our selection of PDG Joe Beltz to carry out the DG term of Mike Beahon for 2014 – ’15.
