Thanks To District Conference Committee!

Rotarians –

I am just getting back home and unpacked after the District 6080 Conference in Branson, but I must take a couple of minutes to thank the District Conference Committee for producing one of the most enjoyable and meaningful conferences I’ve ever attended. (Though some may consider me a bit biased.)

I was elated to see Rotarians in earnest and energetic discussion with those from other clubs. I believe we got some work done both during and between conference sessions; and the feedback I’m getting about the plenary session speakers and the break-out sessions is all VERY positive.

We collected slightly used clothing and ambulatory equipment to send to indigenous and poor populations in Central America; We met the Youth Study Exchange students who have dedicated one academic year of their lives to living and learning about life and culture in our region; We heard reports from both in-bound and out-bound Group Study Exchange teams who were EXCITED about this pivotal opportunity in their lives.

None of this could have happened without decades of work, growth and progress within our District. That’s the platform from which we work today. We have all our previous Governors, District Officers and committee members to thank for that.

So where do we go from here?

From the enthusiasm I saw at the District Conference, I believe the answer is clear.

We go forward.
