“The Checks are in the mail”! Recently, checks have been sent to the 22 clubs as listed below as recipients of 2013-2014 District Simplified Grants. Each club is receiving $1,000 which is to be matched with at least $1,000 from their club for their project. West Plains Clubs are working together this year on a project so are receiving a grant in the amount of $2,000.
Fulton Rotary Club
Purchase equipment (including tack, boots & helmets) for low income children that attend a horse ranch
Willow Springs
Construct an outdoor basketball half-court within the City
Branson DayBreakers
Purchase air conditioning/heating window units for local women’s crisis center cottages
Columbia South
Construction of large planting area at entrance to a center where families stay that are undergoing cancer treatments
Bolivar Rotary Club
Purchase shoes for needy children in area schools
Springfield North
Provide milk as a nutritious afternoon snack for children at local elementary school
Rotary Club of Rolla
Purchase promotional materials and implement a drug education program
Thayer Mammoth Springs
Provide school supplies to needy children throughout the year
Rotary Club of Springfield Southeast
Purchase & install picnic tables in a children’s park
Clinton Rotary Club
Purchase & install rubberized mulch in newly created “pocket park”
Warrensburg Early-Bird
Provide holiday gifts for needy low income children
Rotary Club of Jeff City
Implement an apprenticeship program for at risk youth – purchase computer, software, projector & presentation equipment for their use
Harrisonville Rotary Club
Provide and paint various buildings in the local parks
Fayette Rotary Club
Provide baseball equipment & uniforms to assist local youth

Provide books for children to receive monthly through the Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library program
Lebanon Rotary Club
Provide mulching, bench and identifying plaque to a Rotary Peace Garden at Local library
Rotary Club of Pulaski County
Purchase/place stationary all-weather benches in local park
Marshfield Rotary Club
Provide promotional materials and assist with local drug education program
Warrensburg Noon Rotary
Provide medical & dental laboratory fees for participants of a local day-long event of connecting individuals to needed services
Laurie Sunrise Beach Rotary
Purchase/provide basketball goal & equipment and outdoor furniture at local domestic violence shelter
West Plains Sunrise AND West Plains Noon Rotary
Provide clothing, hygiene products, medication, food & water for homeless local high school students. (2 Clubs working together awarded $2,000 grant)
