June 2015 Rotary District 6080 Foundation Newsletter

During the year we have told stories of how our contributions to Our Rotary Foundation have made the blind see, new-born babies live, crippled to have new limbs, illiterate to read and on and on. Needs continue; I encourage you to join the good works being done by giving what you can before June 30. It will make a world of difference in the life of someone whom you may never meet, but your heart will feel better for it.

The First Annual ROTARY DISTRICT 6080 NORTH-SOUTH FOOD FIGHT

The competition will match the North and South regions of Rotary District 6080 as divided by the Dulle (District Governor-Elect)-Beltz (Current District Governor) Line, seen on the map on the next page. The goal is for each region to accumulate as many points as possible by doing volunteer work or donating money or food to regional food banks and pantries or other charitable organizations which provide food for the needy and hungry. The Competition will run from June 27th through July 31st. The winning region will be recognized in District publications and meetings and an appropriate traveling trophy will be awarded at the District Conference.

May 2015 District 6080 Newsletter

Rotary clubs are having a tremendous impact on communities around the world. In southwest Uganda, Rotary members from Europe, Uganda, and the United States have teamed up with a pioneering doctor and two private entrepreneurs to address the needs of the Batwa Pygmies. Together, they’ve opened a nursing school to train badly needed caregivers for the entire region.

Join Fulton Rotary for Mouse Races! Yes, Mouse Races

Racing mice will help the Rotary Club of Fulton raise money to support service projects in Callaway County, in particular the Coalition Against Rape and Domestic Violence (CARDV). The club will hold the first Callaway Cup Mouse Races starting at 6:30 p.m. March 13 at KC Country, 5836 Old Highway 40 in Kingdom City.
