Choices Program

Through the Choices Program, eighth grade students throughout Pulaski County learned first hand how the decisions they make today can have a long-ranging impact on future options available to them. On Dec. 18, the Rotary Club of Pulaski County (Club #58661 of District 6080) thanked the many volunteers who delivered the Choices program to the students. The Rotary Club partners with the Waynesville-St. Robert Chamber of Commerce to present the Choices program to eighth grade students in all Pulaski County schools each year:  Crocker, Dixon, Laquey, Maranatha, Richland, Swedeborg and Waynesville. Volunteers, who are business professionals from Pulaski County, present two hours of programming, usually over two days, in an effort to help young people understand the impact that the choices they make will have on their lives. Goals of the program include encouraging students to make a commitment to staying in school and continuing with their education after high school. The program format includes interactive and participatory activities, which are fun while getting the message across.  More than 600 students completed the program this year.
