Eight southwest Missouri Rotarians Selected as Men of the Year

men-of-the-yearThe third-annual class of Men of the Year has been chosen by an independent panel of judges and will be honored at an Aug. 23 luncheon.

The award recognizes the professional, philanthropic and civic contributions of 20 men from across southwest Missouri.

The 2013 Men of the Year honorees are: Jim Baker, Missouri State University; Tim Connell, Connell Insurance Inc.; Sam Clifton (Rotary Club of Nixa), Millstone Custom Homes LLC; Dwayne Fulk (Rotary Club of Springfield), Polsinelli PC; Randy Ganz (Rotary Club of Springfield Southeast), DeWitt & Associates Inc.; Conrad Griggs, The Bank of Missouri; Brian Hammons, Hammons Products Co.; Bob Helm, Elliot, Robinson & Co LLP; John Horton (Rotary Club of Springfield Southeast), Layer 3 Technology; Jerry Jared, Jared Enterprises Inc.; Kevin Killian (Rotary Club of Springfield Southeast), Good Samaritan Boys Ranch; Tom Kissee, Tom Kissee Real Estate Co.; Jeff Layman, BKD Wealth Advisors LLC; Shane Nelson (Rotary Club of Ozark), Ozark Abstract & Title; Dan Prater, Drury University Center for Nonprofit Communication; Richard Schnake, Neale & Newman LLP; Dr. Mark Skrade (Rotary Club of Springfield), Forest Institute of Professional Psychology; Dr. Rob Steele, Mercy Hospital Springfield; Brad Swofford (Rotary Club of Branson-Hollister), Branson Public Schools; and Erick Taylor, Pyramid Foods.

The Men of the Year luncheon will begin at 11 a.m. Aug. 23 in the White River Conference Center, 600 W. Sunshine St. Tickets are $38 apiece and can be purchased at SBJ.net/MOTY.

SBJ has partnered with Brighton-based nonprofit Good Samaritan Boys Ranch for the Men of the Year event in an effort to raise money and help provide a safe and caring home for boys who have come from broken or nonexistent homes. The event will include a silent auction and special donation opportunities.
