I am pleased to announce that Past District Governor Sherry Nielsen, of the Laurie-Sunrise Beach Rotary Club, has agreed to serve as chair of the Foundation Banquet committee for District 6080 beginning July 1, 2012.
Sherry was instrumental in launching the District 6080 Foundation Banquet in 2010 and she looks forward to continuing to grow the event in the years ahead. Some nearby districts have conducted Foundation Celebration Banquets for over a decade; Sherry and her committee will be looking to them for ideas and templates to help continue to grow our event in numbers and significance.
“We’ve got such a great start,” said Nielsen. “And with our District’s philanthropic successes, we should continue growing the celebration into an event that brings energized Rotarians and donors throughout the district together for one grand evening. That’s our objective,” said Nielsen.
