Seeking Nominations For District Governor for the Rotary Year 2017-18

I am pleased to announce that Past District Governor Joe Beltz of the Rotary Club of Mountain View, has been nominated and has agreed to serve the remainder of District Governor Mike Beahon’s term through June 30, 2015. The Council of Governors met last week and discussed the qualifications of a Vice District Governor to carryout the duties of District Governor and the immediate issues that need to be addressed in order to have a successful 2014-’15 year of Rotary in District 6080. All of the Council of Governors had an opportunity to comment on the nomination of PDG Joe Beltz and to make additional nominations if they were so inclined. PDG Joe received unanimous support from all PDGs that chose to respond, in addition to the unanimous support of the nominating committee.

Next week is ROTARY Week At Wonderland Camp. As you may recall, this was one of Governor Mike’s projects for his Governor’s Citation. Please try to participate in some way next week.

By now, you should have received the spoken or written word about the MILLION DOLLAR DINNER Program to benefit The Rotary Foundation. The purpose of the MILLION DOLLAR DINNER Program is to create a new awareness about The Rotary Foundation and to raise new, extraordinary funds to benefit The Rotary Foundation and allow Rotary to continue doing good around the world and at home.

On September 1, Rotary District 6080 will launch the District Leadership Academy Program. The Leadership Academy is a 7-month online Rotary education program which trains Rotarians to serve as leaders at the Club and District level. It is often referred to as “Rotary Graduate School”. Nearly 350 Rotary presidents-elect, secretaries-elect and other Rotarians from the three Rotary districts in Missouri met for training March 28-29 at the Capital Plaza Hotel in Jefferson City.
