The Lake Ozark Daybreak Rotary successfully concluded their eighth annual Benefit Car Raffle where a 2013 Camaro RS was proudly declared on May 4th. As a result, Daybreak Rotary will be able to assist children and struggling families in an even bigger way.
In 2013, Marshfield Rotary Park was chosen as the Readers’ Choice Winner for Best Park. In 1982, the dream of the Rotary Park of Marshfield was made into a reality. What began as an unwanted piece of swampland is now a beautiful park that includes several pieces of playground equipment, tennis courts, softball and soccer fields, horseshoe pits and a walking/biking trail and the Rotary Park Peace Pavilion.
Recently, the College of the Ozarks Rotaract club and the Branson Daybreakers joined together in two community service projects.
One of the Rotary Club of Jefferson City’s signature service projects to area youth is its annual Student Government Day. High school students from Jefferson City and across the 6080 District are nominated by their teachers or local Rotarians to attend a half-day program that provides the students with a unique and more personal view of State government in Jefferson City. This year’s participants in the April 16th event included about 130 students from Jefferson City, Columbia, Rolla, Fulton, Salem, Pulaski County, Laurie, Fayette, Buffalo, and Bolivar.
Emily Crabtree, the Goodwill Ambassador for the State of Missouri for the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA), gave a presentation about the benefits of and fun at MDA summer camp to the RotaryClub of Pulaski County (Club #58661 of District 6080) last month. As the Missouri State Goodwill Ambassador, Crabtree makes public appearances throughout Missouri. She is the daughter of Steve and Tara Crabtree of Pulaski County.
In celebration of Rotary’s annual theme “Peace through Service,” the Rotary Clubs and Rotaract Club of Jefferson City are producing a family-friendly, community “Peace Concert” on the Missouri Capitol lawn in Jefferson City. (April 21 from 2-4 pm.)
