The Rotary Club of Pulaski County ushered in spring with an All-American Barbeque for Fort Leonard Wood international students at the home of Rotary President Keith Pritchard in Waynesville.
Kids at Springfield’s Pershing Middle School played Jeopardy! with “Clues Crew” host Kelly Miyahara. The message of the this game is “Don’t Meth with Me.” Springfield’s Rotary Club helped develop the game for the classroom.
Rotarians Ned Caldwell and Jim Conley have worked on Springfield’s Rock ‘n’ Ribs celebration for many years, and they have prepared an overview of what it takes to pull off something that large. The attached Powerpoint and summary sheet were shared at the 6080 District Conference in October.
For Tiffany Eis, everyday life now includes walking the halls of schools and teaching the dangers of meth and drug use from a firsthand experience. She’s part of the Rotary clubs’ “Don’t Meth With Us” program. She says the drug changed her life, forever.
Most people are unfamiliar with the conflict and confusion that occurs between relief organizations in the aftermath of a major disaster. Rotary Peace Fellow Akis Kalaitzidis learned about this from firsthand accounts, and he relates some of the instances in his latest blog.

The five Rotary clubs of Columbia joined in supporting a Free Plastic Surgery Camp at the Jalna Mission Hospital in Jalna, India earlier this spring. The Rotary Club of Columbia (acting as the lead club), Columbia Northwest Rotary Club, Columbia South Rotary Club, Columbia Metro Rotary Club, Columbia Sunrise Southwest Rotary Club and an anonymous Rotarian from the Rotary Club of Columbia contributed funds to support this project.

Dr. Patricia Wolff founded Meds & Food for Kids (MFK) in 2003, after volunteering in Haiti as a medical missionary for 15 years. She was in despair of watching children die but knew it didn’t have to be that way. A Rotary International grant was instrumental in the organization’s early days…Ten years later, MFK remains proud and grateful for the continuing friendship with Rotary Clubs both close to home and around the world. On Sunday April 20, MFK participated in the Music for Peace concert in Jefferson City, MO at the State Capitol.
Recently, the College of the Ozarks Rotaract club and the Branson Daybreakers joined together in two community service projects.
